Cascade Coat: Milestones in My homemade wardrobe

I recently decided to tackle my most ambitious most exciting sewing adventure to date!  I found the Grainline Cascade Coat and knew I had to make it! Fabric came from the Fabric Warehouse, an oatmeal wool, and cream lining, along with a little touch of leather I picked up in their half price leather sale.

The sewing itself I managed to space out over about 3 or 4 weekends; my flatmates put up with my fabric scattered around the living room and partly sewn fabric clumped on chairs and the table.

I'm new to Grainline patterns, but I found their sizing matched the size guide (they do use US sizing), and the sewing was straightforward and self-explanatory. I appreciated their sew-along available on the website for the trickier parts. I've never bagged a coat before, but I managed to do this without too much difficulty, just a bit of thinking!

Next up, a cute midi skirt and cropped boxy top pair, in a striped linen.
